HANOVER, N.H. – Junior Madeline Baird (Austin, Texas) picked up her first Ivy Player of the Week honor for 2010 as the Dartmouth women's volleyball team has won the award twice since the season began.

Baird earned All-Tournament honors for the second weekend in a row as the outside hitter led the Big Green with a whopping 46 kills and a .317 hitting percentage. She also tallied three service aces and 44 digs.
In the closest match of the weekend against host Quinnipiac, Baird recorded 15 kills, including three in a row twice to help the Big Green come from behind in the second set against the Bobcats.
Baird currently leads the team with 84 kills, almost 5.00 per game and is tops with four service aces while notching 78 digs.Classmate Annie Villanueva (Santa Barbara, Calif.) was named All-Tournament for the first time this season. The middle blocker recorded 23 kills with a .298 hitting percentage helping Dartmouth win three matches last weekend.
She was one of the top leaders for the Big Green with six blocks. For the season she's second with 55 kills and has a .305 hitting percentage. Villanueva is tops on the squad with 13 total blocks.
Dartmouth is currently 6-0 on the season and will be back in action against Bryant on Sept. 14 and then at the UNH Tournament against the host Wildcats, Rutgers and Sacred Heart this weekend.
