Kendall Houston Named Ivy Volleyball Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Dartmouth volleyball started the season going 3-0 at the Sacred Heart Invitational and because of its record the Big Green was named the co-Champs of the tourney while junior setter Kendall Houston (Austin, Texas) earned co-MVP honors. Thanks to her play, Houston was given her first-ever weekly league award.

The Big Green claimed a 3-0 win over Jacksonville to begin the tourney before taking 3-1 victories over Binghamton and Lehigh on the final day.

Houston averaged 9.45 assists, 1.91 kills, 2.27 digs and 0.82 blocks per set, and was named all-tournament along with MVP. Her nine blocks (five solo and four block assists) led the Big Green. She also added three services aces.

Houston's top match was against Binghamton when she recorded a career-first triple-double. She had 10 kills, 39 assists and 10 digs. It's the first triple-double for a Dartmouth volleyball player since assistant coach Katie Hirsch recorded one in 2006.

The Big Green will be back in action this weekend, traveling to Quinnipiac for the Bobcats Invitational. Dartmouth will take on Hartford on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and then host Quinnipiac and St. Peter's on Saturday at 2 and 4:30 p.m.
