HANOVER, N.H. — The Big Green have won three straight games after their 16-7 victory at Holy Cross on March 9. Freshman Jeff Perkins (Dallas, Texas) led the team with five goals in the contest. He also had one assist for six total points.
The three-game winning streak is the longest for Dartmouth since the team won four in a row in 2007.
SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN
Dartmouth enters the game against Duke with a 3-1 record and are 2-0 on the road this season. After their spring break trip, the Big Green will begin conference play at home against Harvard on March 26.
Junior Captain Kip Dooley (Minneapolis, Minn.) leads the team in points with 14 on six goals and a team-best eight assists. Four players are tied for second on the team with nine points. Perkins has eight goals and one assist, junior Drew Tunney (Greenwich, Conn.) has eight goals and one assist, senior captain Rhett Miller (Dallas, Texas) has five goals and four assists and sophomore Nikki Dysenchuk (Darien, Conn.) has five goals and four assists.
In net, junior Fergus Campbell (New Canaan, Conn.) has started all four games and has a 9.14 goals against average. In 240 minutes, he has made 40 saves, including 17 in the win at Sacred Heart.
The team is averaging 12.50 goals per game, while allowing 9.25. The Big Green take 42 shots per game and grab 36 ground balls per game. Dartmouth is 5-for-14 in man-up situations for a 35.7 percent conversion rate.
EVERY-GAME SCORERS
Dartmouth has played four games and only two players have scored in every contest. Dooley has tallied 14 points in the four games on six goals and eight assists. Freshman Patrick Resch (Flourtown, Pa.) has scored four points in four games. He has two goals and two assists on the year.
One other player has scored in every game he has played in this season. Tunney did not see the field in the first two games, but has nine points in the last two.
MAN-UP MAN-DOWN
After not scoring either a man-up goal or a man-down goal in its season-opening loss to Colgate, Dartmouth has scored at least one of each in its last three victories.
On the season, the Big Green have five man-up goals and three man-down goals.
NATIONAL LEADERS
The Big Green have a couple of players who are among the national leaders after their first four games.
Dooley is tied for fifth in the nation in assists per game at 2.00. Rob Pannell of Cornell leads the nation at 3.00 assists per game. Perkins is tied for 13th in goals per game at 2.67. Mike Sawyer of Loyola Maryland leads the nation at 3.50 goals per game.
SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS
The seventh-ranked Duke Blue Devils enter the game against the Big Green with a 5-2 record and have won four consecutive games. Duke most recently won at eighth-ranked North Carolina on March 17, 14-9. The Blue Devils are a perfect 4-0 on their home field.
Zach Howell leads the team with 18 points on 14 goals and four assists. Justin Turri is second with 11 points on eight goals and three assists. Jordan Wolf has nine points on seven goals and two assists.
Dan Wigrizer has started all five games at goalie with an 8.44 goals against average. He has made 53 saves in 256:01 minutes.
SERIES HISTORY
It will be the 14th meeting between the two schools on Sunday. Duke has won all the previous meetings and lead the series, 13-0. The teams first met on April 1, 1952 at Duke with the Blue Devils winning, 3-1. All but one of the games have been played at Duke. The only game not at Duke was a neutral site game at Uniondale, N.Y.
