Yale Edges Dartmouth Heavyweights for Olympic Axe

DERBY, Conn. - Yale had a solid day from top to bottom to
sweep the Dartmouth heavyweight crew as the varsities battled for the Olympic
Axe.
Yale's varsity eight took home top honors with a time of 5:54.5 just ahead of Dartmouth (1-1) in 5:59.6.
Yale also won a tight race in the second varsity eight, with the Bulldogs finishing in a time of 5:50.5, ahead of the Big Green in 5:56.2. Dartmouth's rookies came close as well, finishing in a time of 6:04.6 behind Yale in 6:01.6 in the novice eight.
The Bulldogs won the third varsity eight race in a time of 6:01.6 with Dartmouth second in 6:14.1. Lastly in the fourth varsity/second novice race, Yale was well ahead in a time of 6:14.9 and Dartmouth second in 6:55.6.
Dartmouth heads to New Jersey next Saturday to square off against Boston University and Rutgers on the Scarlet Knights' home course.
