Men's Golf Finishes Runner-Up at Ivy League Match Play

PRINCETON, N.J. — After defeating Penn and Yale in the first two rounds, the Dartmouth men's golf team fell to Princeton in the final round to finish second overall at the Ivy League match play event this past weekend. The Big Green fell, 3-1-1 to the host Tigers in the championship round on Sunday.

In the opening round, the Dartmouth defeated Penn, 3-2 on wins from Joey Maziar, Charles Cai and Charlie Edler. The Big Green edged out Yale in the second round, 3-2 on victories from Dylan Rusk, Cai and James Pleat. During Sunday's final round, Rusk was the only Dartmouth player to win, defeating Princeton's Joseph D'Amato. Pleat forced a tie with Bernie D'Amato, as play halted once Princeton had clinched the tournament.

Princeton was the team champion, followed by Dartmouth, Brown, Yale, Penn, Cornell and Harvard. A composite team rounded out the competition in eighth place.
