HANOVER, N.H. — The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released the Capital One Academic All-District ® Baseball Teams today, and Dartmouth senior Jeff Keller was among those on the first team in District I along with three other Ivy Leaguers. The first Big Green baseball player to earn Academic All-America honors last year, Keller is on the all-district squad for a third consecutive year.
The right fielder from Atherton, Calif., is an economics major with a 3.95 grade point average and enjoyed another strong season for Dartmouth, which is hosting Yale on Sunday in a playoff game to determine the champion of the Rolfe Division in the Ivy League. Keller leads the league with 15 doubles and ranks among the top 10 in five other offensive statistical categories — batting (.304, ninth), slugging (.474, seventh), runs (27, sixth), total bases (64, sixth) and stolen bases (11, sixth). Last week the senior broke the Big Green career record for doubles and currently has 53, three shy of the Ivy League record. A career .338 hitter, Keller also has 15 homers, 105 runs scored and 104 RBIs while stealing 22 bases during his four years in Hanover.
Keller and the other three Ivy Leaguers to be chosen on an all-district team will now go on the national ballot for the opportunity to earn Academic All-America honors. Those teams (first, second and third) will be announced on May 30.
