WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Dartmouth women's tennis team returned to the court on Saturday for the second day of the Tribe Invitational, wrapping things up with a record of 4-3. The Green and White went 1-1 in doubles and 3-2 in singles, facing Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth and host William and Mary.
“We played with great energy,” said head coach Bob Dallis. “Our doubles were greatly improved from yesterday.”
Sophomore Taylor Ng and freshman Kristina Mathis picked up Dartmouth's lone doubles' victory with an 8-5 win over the hosts. Mathis went 2-0 on the day, while senior Akiko Okuda remains undefeated in singles.
The Big Green opened the 2014-15 season on Friday, ending the day with a record of 7-2. Freshman Alexxis Kiven opened her collegiate career with two doubles victories and one singles win. She remains undefeated in the tournament with her singles win against William and Mary.
Tomorrow, the team from the Upper Valley will play just one singles match against Maryland to end the weekend.
