PRINCETON, N.J. – Dartmouth men's tennis wrapped up its weekend at Princeton's Farnsworth Ivy Plus Tournament on Sunday afternoon by going 6-2 and sending its doubles team to the finals. This was the Big Green's first tournament of the 2014-15 season.
“We are really happy with our first weekend of competition,” said head coach Chris Drake. “We took away a lot of positive things from our matches and know that there are things we need to work on that we can get through in practice and we are looking to improve for the coming tournaments. Overall, this was a very good start.
Sophomore Diego Pedraza and freshman Ciro Riccardi represented Dartmouth in the finals of the Black Draw, defeating Haworth and Kravchenko of Brown in the semifinals, 8-3, before falling to Harvard in the main event by a score of 8-1. Sophomore Max Schmitz was Dartmouth's lone singles player on the final day of competition, winning his match against Dylan Brown of Cornell by a score of 6-1, 6-1.
Next up, the Big Green will travel to the south for the Alabama Invitational, which will take place next Friday through Sunday, Sept. 26-28.
