No. 62 Women's Tennis Sweeps Boston University, 7-0

HANOVER, N.H. – No. 62 Dartmouth women's tennis swept Boston University, 7-0, in the Boss Tennis Center on Friday evening. The Big Green are 4-0 on the season, while the Terriers dipped to 1-1.

Sophomore Taylor Ng and freshman Kristina Mathis continued their undefeated streak at No. 1 doubles by putting the first point on the board with a 6-2 victory over Lauren Davis and Madison Craft. So far during this young season, the duo has defeated opponents from Brown and Mississippi State.

Junior Katherine Yau and freshman Alexxis Kiven followed suit, defeating Johanna Hyoty and Iryna Kostirko, 6-2, at No. 2. Senior Akiko Okuda and freshman Julia Schroeder picked up a 6-4 win against Barbara Rodriguez and Kim McCallum at No. 3 to complete the sweep.

Schroeder was the first to wrap things up in singles action, dominating with her 6-1, 6-0 win over Iris Lin at No. 5. Okuda had a 6-0, 6-4 defeat of Craft at No. 4. It was Yau that clinched the victory for the home team with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2 against Davis.

The Big Green continued with their winning ways; junior Suzy Tan added a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Sophie Wyman at No. 6 and Ng defeated the 2014 Patriot League Player of the Year, Hyoty, at No. 1 by a score of 6-1, 7-5.

Dartmouth returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 1, when they host Miami of Ohio at 9 a.m. After that, the Green and White will travel to New York for the ECAC Tournament, which will take place from Feb. 6-8.
