NEW HAVEN, Vt. — The Dartmouth Equestrian team had a very successful first show of the season at Middlebury on Saturday, beating out 10 other teams to win the competition.
Freshman Olivia Champ got the day off to a good start by winning the First Open Fences class, and her teammates followed her good example, with senior Lindsay Seewald and junior Catherine Conway winning Intermediate and Novice Fences respectively.
Seewald also won the Intermediate Flat class, and in doing so claimed the honor of High-Point Rider for the competition.
Champ and senior Emily Tregidgo both placed second in Open Flat, which qualified Champ for the reserve high point ride-off at the end of the day, an individual competition she also won.
Other notable scores included a first from junior Meaghan Haugh in Intermediate Flat, a first from classmate Christiana Salvatori in Advanced Walk Trot Canter, and a fourth from senior Katie Bates in Walk Trot, which kept Dartmouth neatly ahead of the competition.
