HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth men's lacrosse will head to Long Island this weekend to face-off against cancer at the Nicholas Colleluori Classic Long Island Event at Hofstra's James M. Shuart Stadium.
The event, scheduled for Saturday, will feature four games and will run from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Big Green will take on Quinnipiac at 11:30 a.m. and Lafayette at 1:30 p.m. following a short presentation by HEADstrong, the foundation running the event.
HEADstrong founder Nicholas Colleluori was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2005 and lost his battle in 2006 at the young age of 21. Over the past nine years, college lacrosse teams have taken to the field to honor Colleluori by participating in the classic, held each October.
This year, the HEADstrong Foundation expanded their collegiate fall event series to include new events in Philadelphia, Long Island and Baltimore with the purpose of raising funds to improve quality of life for those affected by cancer.
