PRINCETON, N.J. – Dartmouth women's swimming and diving wrapped up the Big Al Invitational on Sunday evening, placing fifth overall with 345 points.
To kick off the finals, sophomore AnnClaire MacArt took fifth in the 1650-yard freestyle (16:49.27), touching just seven tenths of a second ahead of Emily Mayo of Villanova. Classmate Hayley Winter placed 10th (17:07.16). In the B final of the 200-yard backstroke, sophomore Taylor Yamahata came in 10th place (2:01.81).
Three Big Green swimmers finished in the top 16 in the 100-yard freestyle. Senior Charlotte Kamai touched first for Dartmouth in seventh (50.87), while classmate Kendese Nangle was 14th (51.38) and freshman Megan Crook came in 16th (51.63).
Crook was back in action in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing in 15th place (2:22.56). Fellow freshman Amber Zimmerman also swam the 200 breast, taking 12th (2:20.79). Rookie Caroline Poleway was 13th in the 200-yard butterfly (2:05.39).
In the 3-meter diving prelims, sophomore Allegra Codamon and freshman Allison Green finished in 18th (207.40) and 19th (207.15). To end the weekend, Dartmouth placed fifth in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:24.05). Made up of Nangle, Crook, Zimmerman and Kamai, the Green left over a second and a half between them and Brown in sixth.
Dartmouth will have a month off from competition, heading to Puerto Rico for training trip before taking on Yale and Penn on Jan. 9.
