THIS WEEK
For the second time in four days, the Dartmouth men's lacrosse team will play on Scully-Fahey Field, hosting non-conference rival Vermont at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green opened Ivy League play on Saturday with a huge 12-11 double-overtime victory over Harvard. Dartmouth struck first and took a 3-0 lead early in the first quarter, keeping Harvard at bay until Ian Ardrey put the visitors on the board with 3:34 to go in the first. For the rest of the game, the Green remained just narrowly ahead of the Crimson, never once surrendering the lead. With an 11-10 edge and just 14 seconds remaining in the game, the opponent tied the score at 11 and sent it to overtime, the first of the year for Dartmouth. With a split second to go in the first overtime period, the Crimson's Bryan Moore made a key save that kept the score locked, but with 2:21 to go in the second, leading goal-scorer Jack Korzelius netted his 10th of the season to end the game with a victory. Adam Fishman led Dartmouth with four goals, while Cam Lee had two markers and one assist and Wiley Osborne scored one goal and tallied two helpers. Phil Hession led with 15 ground balls and went 20-for-24 on the face-off. The Green outshot the Crimson, 39-34. They went 22-for-27 on face-offs and were 3-for-4 on extra-man opportunities, while holding Harvard to 0-for-6. Blair Friedensohn earned his first win of the season, making 12 saves in all.
SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS}
Vermont had a tough start to its season, falling in four straight: No. 14/17Penn State (15-8), Colgate (10-8), Providence (12-9) and Boston University (15-7) before picking up its first win of the year on March 3 in the form of a 17-10 victory over NJIT. The Catamounts had an impressive 11-10 triple-overtime defeat of Air Force on March 7 and an 18-10 win over UMass Lowell three weeks later, but fell to Georgetown (18-10) and Sacred Heart (21-17) between those victories. James Barlow leads the team in goals (21), while Cam Milligan is first in assists (20) and points (38).
LAST TIME AGAINST VERMONT
A late rally fell short for Dartmouth on Feb. 25, 2014, as the Big Green lost to regional rival Vermont, 13-8, on the road. Dartmouth held a 40-30 advantage in shots, but the Catamounts' goaltender Justin Rosenberg made a season-high 13 saves to snap the home team's four-game losing streak in the border battle. The Green went 1-for-6 on their extra-man opportunities, while UVM found the back of the net on two of their four chances. Though the score did not favor Dartmouth, it led in both groundballs (49-29) as well as faceoffs (winning 14-of-25).
IVY LEAGUE HONORS
After the dramatic conclusion to the game on Saturday, Hession was named the conference's Co-Player of the Week, while Korzelius was tabbed as the Rookie of the Week. This is the first in almost a year that a Green player has been honored by the league.
CALLAHAN & CO.
After a 2-10 campaign last season, the Dartmouth men's lacrosse team is looking to rebuild in 2015. That rebuild began last summer with the hiring of Callahan, who came to Hanover after spending the last seven years as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Lehigh. Callahan brought in Tucker Kear and Kevin Gould to round out the Big Green's new look on the sidelines.
LEADING THE WAY
With two goals against Harvard, including the game-winner, Korzelius still leads the team in both goals (10) and points (10). Following his three-point performance on Saturday, Osborne has moved into second with four goals and five assists for nine points.
FRESH FACES
Making their collegiate debut this year in the Class of 2018 are Willis Bocock, Jase Davis, Cormac Dugan, Cody George, Alex Kelly, Evan Key, Jack Korzelius, Patrick Lesch, Richie Loftus, James McJunkin, Sam Runkle, Doug Strazza and Ty Vandenberg. Korzelius leads the way with 10 markers, while Key has netted one goal and tallied two assists for three points.

Heffernan has appeared in three contests in 2015, making three saves and allowing nine markers, getting his first win of the year against Wagner on March 7. Vandenberg made his collegiate debut between the pipes, spending 2:01 in the cage.

After playing two games on home turf, the Big Green will hit the road for two conference contests, heading to New York on Saturday, March 28 for a 1 p.m. game against Cornell before traveling to Connecticut the following Saturday to take on Yale.
