LEXINGTON, Ky. – It was announced recently that the Dartmouth volleyball team earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Academic Award for the fourth year in a row.
A total of 757 teams earned the award for the 2014-15 season, which easily broke the previous year's total of 687 and set a new all-time high.
Initiated during the 1992-93 academic year, the AVCA Academic Award honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
Fellow Ivy League members Brown, Columbia, Harvard and Yale joined Dartmouth on the list.
NCAA Division I recorded their highest-ever total number of recipients, honoring 149 programs, which is 13 more than during the 2013-14 season.
