BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Dartmouth men's cross country team placed seventh at the 2016 Paul Short Invitational on Saturday morning.
The Big Green posted 186 team points on Lehigh's 8K course with senior Nat Adams leading the way as he claimed 19th overall in 24:02.
Fellow seniors Matt Herzig (24:11) and Connor Clark (24:16) finished shortly thereafter in 25th and 32nd, respectively.
Dartmouth Invite winner freshman Quinn Cooney was the fourth Big Green harrier to cross the line, doing so in 63rd with a 24:32 to his credit. Senior Dan Salas was three seconds behind Cooney in 24:35 to take 69th and round out the scoring.
“We had a very solid run against a national class field,” head coach Barry Harwich '77 said. “Nat (Adams) and Matt (Herzig) had outstanding races on a very fast day for us.”
National power Iona dominated the field of 38 teams by posting four top-10 finishers en route to an impressive 34 points.
Dartmouth is back to racing again next Saturday at the New England Championships in Boston.
