Big Green Go 8-1 in Singles on Day Two of Invite

HANOVER, N.H. – The Big Green men's tennis team had a good showing on the court on day two of the Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, finishing up the day by going 8-1 in singles and 5-3 in doubles.

In the semifinal of draw one, junior Max Fliegner and freshman David Horneffer had wins over players from Yale and the same was true for Diego Pedraza and Max Schmidt in draw two, as both Big Green seniors had three-set victories over Binghamton players.

Sophomore Eddie Grabill had a 7-5, 6-3 win over Yale's Hagermoser in the draw three semifinal, while classmate Roko Glasnovic had a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Binghamton's Bouchet in the consolation semifinal. In the fifth draw, fellow sophomore Joey Haig added one more win for Dartmouth with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Amherst's Paridis.

In the quarterfinal of the first draw of doubles, Glasnovic and Pedraza defeated a duo from Binghamton (8-2), while Horneffer paired up with Schmidt to defeat a doubles team from Brown (8-5). Later on in the day, Horneffer and Schmidt won their semifinal match against a pair from Yale (8-6).

Grabill and junior Paul Midgley were victorious in their quarterfinal match against Yale (8-3) and Fliegner and Haig had an 8-4 win over their opponents from Binghamton.

Dartmouth will return to action at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
