BOSTON, Mass. – No. 42 Dartmouth women's tennis won its third straight match on Sunday with a 7-0 victory over Boston University. The Big Green improved to 4-2 on the season, while the Terriers dipped to 3-2.
The only match BU took was a 7-6 victory at No. 1 doubles, but Dartmouth won the other two to give the first point to the Green. Senior Katherine Yau and sophomore Julia Schroeder defeated Iryna Kostirko and Barbara Rodriguez, 6-4, at No. 2, while senior Julienne Keong and junior Jacqueline Crawford had a 6-1 win over Remi Ramos and Kim McCallum at the No. 3 position.
Three of the six singles matches went to three sets, with Dartmouth coming out on top in all of them. At the No. 1 position, junior Taylor Ng won her first set against Johanna Hyoty, 6-4, but dropped the second by a score of 6-3. She easily took the third, 6-1, to win the match. At No. 3, sophomore Kristina Mathis had a 6-0, 3-6, 6-4 victory over Kostirko and, at the No. 4 position, Crawford defeated Sabrina Faybyshev, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.
Next weekend, Dartmouth will host No. 62 Minnesota on Saturday and Massachusetts on Sunday.
