GREENVILLE, S.C. – After the first round of the Furman Intercollegiate, the Dartmouth men's golf team sits in a four-way tie for sixth place at the Part 72 course in Greenville, South Carolina.
Ivy League foe Harvard, sits atop the leader board at 284 (-4), while Georgia State is close behind at 285 (-3) after the opening round of the tournament. The Big Green shot a combined 290 to finish the day +2.
Junior Jeff Lang was the lowest scoring player for Dartmouth shooting a 70 (-2) through 18 holes which included a pair of birdies on holes 11 and five. Lang's best hole of the day came on the par five second hole which he eagled.
Freshman John Lazor also had a solid day on the links for the Big Green finishing his round one under par at 71. His afternoon was highlighted by a trio of birdies on the back nine and a birdie on the par five sixth hole.
The Furman Intercollegiate continues tomorrow in Greenville, S.C. with the championship round on Sunday.
