ANNAPOLIS, Md. – On the second and final day of the 2016 NCAA Division I 'A' Diving Regional Championship Tuesday, senior Brett Gillis and freshman AJ Krok competed on 1-meter, while fellow rookie Allison Green was on the 3-meter diving board.
“All three of our divers did well,” head coach Chris Hamilton said. “Brett finished his college diving career with two school records and the Ron Keenhold Award for most points scored in four years. He will be missed next year.
“It was a great way to end the season and I am looking forward to next year's team,” Hamilton continued. “Having two freshmen compete at Zones is a great coaching tool. They now know what it takes to be one of the top divers in the country. I just have to push them to get better every day until next year. I am excited for the future and for our diving team.”
In the prelims on the 1-meter board, Gillis finished highest for Dartmouth in 25th place (262.00), just half a point behind Daniel Kinney of UConn in 24th and missing out on making it back for finals by just a few places. Krok followed up in 34th (241.25).
On 3-meter, Green placed 43rd (206.80), finishing less than a point behind Cheyanne Neuenschwander of Pitt and almost a point ahead of Laura Rokop of Richmond in 43rd place. Green's final was right around what she scored at the Ivy League Championship.
