HANOVER, N.H. – No. 9 Dartmouth lightweight rowing returned to the Connecticut River on a beautiful Sunday morning to face Mercyhurst.
In the first race of the day, the varsity 4+, the Lakers (6:44.1) finished just one second ahead of the Big Green's A crew (6:45.1), while the home team's B boat followed in third place (6:59.8). The second varsity 8+ was another incredibly close race, as Mercyhurst completed the course in 5:55.6 and Dartmouth was right behind with a time of 5:56.4.
A light headwind had built by the time the varsity 8+ race started. The Green finished in 5:50.8, leaving exactly eight seconds between them and the Lakers with their 5:58.8.
Next Saturday, April 23, Dartmouth will host Yale in the Durand Cup.
