Men's Tennis
vs Dartmouth Invite #1

HANOVER, N.H. – After playing seven consecutive road matches, the No. 38 Dartmouth men's tennis team will return to the Boss Tennis Center for the first time in almost a month to host No. 37 Princeton on Saturday and Penn on Sunday.
The Big Green (13-8, 1-1 Ivy League) moved up another two spots in this week's ITA National Rankings after sitting at No. 40 last week. Dartmouth opened conference play over the weekend and returned to Hanover with a record of 1-1 following a 4-2 loss to No. 28 Columbia and a win of the same score against No. 56 Cornell. Senior Dovydas Sakinis is ranked 90th in singles action and, for the first time this season, junior George Wall and senior Brendan Tannenbaum appeared on the doubles list as the 63rd-ranked team. The duo played at the No. 1 position for both matches over the weekend, defeating Cornell's 15th-ranked Shawn Hadavi and Richard Pham, 7-6(5).
Princeton (14-6, 2-0 Ivy League) – which sits just one spot ahead of Dartmouth in the national rankings – kicked off Ivy season this past weekend with 4-1 wins over Brown and Yale at home. The Tigers sit atop the standings alongside Columbia and Penn as the only three teams to remain undefeated in conference action.
Penn (7-11, 2-0 Ivy League) is Dartmouth's first unranked opponent since Midwestern State on March 17. The Quakers got off to a good start in conference play over the weekend, defeating Yale by a score of 5-2 on Friday and Brown by a slightly closer score of 4-3 the next day. Although the team is not ranked, Austin Kaplan and Nicholai Westergaard are No. 84 in doubles play.
Even though Ivy League matches just began, the end is in sight. Next Friday, April 15, Dartmouth will host its final match of 2015-16 against Brown. From there, the Big Green will close the regular season at Yale and Harvard.
