HANOVER, N.H. — The fate of the Rolfe Division in the Ivy League baseball standings will have to wait a couple of days. The doubleheader scheduled to be played today between the host Dartmouth Big Green (17-23, 10-8 Ivy) and the Harvard Crimson (16-23, 8-10 Ivy) has been postponed until Tuesday due to impending rain in the Upper Valley.
Dartmouth is in a virtual tie atop the division standings with Yale (17-26-1, 11-9 Ivy), whose regular season ended yesterday with a doubleheader loss against Brown. If the Big Green sweep the twinbill on Tuesday from Harvard, they will win the Rolfe Division title outright for the ninth consecutive season, tying an Ivy League record. A split of the two games would leave Dartmouth tied with Yale and force a playoff game to be hosted by the Bulldogs in New Haven next weekend. Should the Green falter in both games, Yale would claim its first division crown in 21 years.
The first game on Tuesday is slated to start at 1 p.m. The entire doubleheader will be streamed live via Big Green Insider on the Ivy League Digital Network, as will a short ceremony before the first game to honor the graduating senior class, consisting of
Adam Charnin-Aker,
Joe Purritano,
Duncan Robinson,
Thomas Roulis and
Nick Ruppert.
