HANOVER, N.H. – After finishing in second place in the Ivy League with a huge win over Harvard a week and a half ago, the Dartmouth men's tennis team will finally find out if it has made it to the NCAA Tournament.
NCAA.com will broadcast the selection show online Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., revealing the field of 64. First-round matches will take place Friday, May 13.
The last time the Big Green made it to the NCAA Tournament was in 1997. Dartmouth wrapped up that season with an overall record of 17-5 and went 8-1 in Eastern Intercollegiate Tennis Association (EITA) matches to win the conference title. The EITA comprised the eight Ivy schools plus Army and Navy from the 1939-40 through the 1997-98 academic years. On May 9, 1997, the Green headed to Cambridge to face Harvard, falling to the Crimson, 4-0.
Dartmouth wrapped up the regular season with an 18-8 overall record and a 6-1 mark in Ivy League play to finish second. The Big Green spent the entirety of 2016 in the national rankings and is currently sitting at No. 39. A new ranking is due out in two days.
