HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth field hockey team capped a three-game homestand with a 4-1 win Friday at Chase AstroTurf Field against regional-rival Vermont.

The Big Green (2-3) got goals from four different players as Joanne Nazareth, Anna Ewasechko and Carmen Braceras all scored first-half goals and Heather Zezzo notched one in the second stanza to secure the win.

Freshman goalkeeper Emma Plumb was just 37 seconds away from her first career shutout, only to have the Catamounts' (4-3) Landon Warren break up the bid in the final minute of regulation.

Dartmouth looked sharp as it carried the 3-0 lead into the break with Nazareth getting the scoring started in just the fourth minute with her third of the season. Ewasechko followed with her first of the year just 1:57 later.

Braceras didn't allow Nazareth to hold the team lead for goals long as she notched her third marker of 2016 in the 12th minute of action as the Green rolled early.

Zezzo scored her second of the year in the opening 10 minutes of the second frame to round out the scoring for the home team on this day.

Plumb stopped seven of the eight she faced, allowing just the late marker to secure her second win of the season, playing all 70 minutes of game time. At the other end, starter Lena Benwood made three saves in 49 minutes of action before giving way to Emily Snowden for the final 21. Snowden stopped two and didn't allow a Dartmouth goal in relief.

Junior Sarah Tabeek and sophomore Evie Bird had assists in the victory.

The Big Green will travel to New Haven and Yale's Johnson Field on Sunday morning to take on Sacred Heart in a game that, though on a neutral turf, is a Pioneers' home contest. Opening whistle is set for 10:30 a.m.
