THIS WEEKEND'S GAMES
The Dartmouth field hockey team hosts Yale in an Ivy League match-up on Saturday with a short turnaround as it hosts Northeastern the following afternoon.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green fell on the road at No. 17 Maine Tuesday afternoon. The Black Bears put forth an impressive game plan that limited Dartmouth's possession and resulted in a 4-0 win.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
•   Yale comes into the weekend with a 5-6 overall record thanks to a 1-0 loss on the road at Bucknell on Sunday that pushed their record to below .500.
•   The day before, the Bulldogs were on the right side of a 1-0 win, this time at Cornell and doing so in overtime. Bridget Condie scored the game's lone goal in the 79th minute to give Yale its first Ivy win of the season after dropping its first two league contests.
•   Sophomore Imogen Davies leads the team with five goals and 11 points this season, while Condie is second with nine points thanks to her team-leading three assists.
AGAINST YALE
•   Dartmouth is seeking to snap a two-game skid to the Elis, having not beaten its New Haven counterparts since the 2015 season.
•   The last home win against visiting Yale was a 4-2 victory on Oct. 18, 2014.
SCOUTING THE HOWLIN' HUSKIES
•   Northeastern will make the trip up I-93 to I-89 with a three-game win streak in tow. Even with that trio of consecutive wins, the Huskies are still just 5-8 overall this season.
•   During the current stretch, the team has outscored its opponents, 13-4, with a 3-0 shutout on the road at Bryant on Tuesday.
•   The offense runs through June Curry-Lindahl, who leads the team in both goals (8) and points (20), while sharing the top mark in assists (4) with Kellie Stigas, the younger sister of former Dartmouth assistant coach
Kristine Stigas.
AGAINST NORTHEASTERN
•   Dartmouth has historically struggled with the Howlin' Huskies.
•   The last Big Green win in the series was Oct. 10, 1987, far and away the longest drought against any team that appears on the schedule even semi-annually.
•   Since that last Dartmouth win, Northeastern has come away with the last 10 meetings.
CAREER DAY
•   It's not a real stretch to say that Dartmouth's best player at Maine was senior goalkeeper
Hailey Valerio.
•   The Pennsylvania native turned aside a career-high 16 shots in the game, three more than her previous best and five more than she had in any game so far this season.
•   That total pushed her to the top of the Ivy League in saves this season (78), while fourth in save percentage (.722). As of Wednesday morning, her 7.80 saves per game was not only the best in the Ancient Eight, but also ranked sixth in the nation.
LAST LINE OF DEFENSE
•   Valerio may have had the marquee on Tuesday at Maine, but she did so with a little help from her friends.
•   The senior keeper was also helped by four defensive saves.
Amrit Ahluwalia and
Maddie Donahue each had one, while senior co-captain
Jessica Valvano had a career-high two.
•   The Big Green jumped from 28th in the country with three defensive saves to tied for third with seven this season after the contest with the Black Bears. In total, Dartmouth had more defensive saves on Tuesday than in all previous nine games combined.
•   The team from Hanover has accounted for 41.2 percent (7-of-17) of the entire Ivy League output in defensive saves in 2018.
CREEPING UP ON 150
•   Let's try this one… final… time…
•   Already the program's all-time winningest coach,
Amy Fowler is now just ONE win away from 150 for her career, all at Dartmouth.
•   In her 19th season with the Big Green, Fowler came into the season with 145 career victories, a figure she has added four more to this season to put her just one shy of the milestone marker.

WHAT'S AHEAD?
Dartmouth will be on the road next weekend at Columbia on Friday afternoon (2 p.m.) before stopping at UMass Lowell on Sunday (1:30 p.m.) on the way home. The only remaining home game after this weekend is Oct. 27 against Harvard on Senior Day during Homecoming Weekend.
