PRINCETON, N.J. – The Dartmouth men's cross country team claimed third at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championship on Saturday morning.

Princeton took the top spot with an impressive 30 points, followed by Harvard (61) and the Big Green (67). The race was run on the 8K West Windsor Field Course in cold, wet conditions.

Sophomore
Owen Ritz (7th, 24:48.3) and junior
Henry Raymond (8th, 24:49.7) led Dartmouth on the cold and wet day. For Ritz, his performance earned First Team All-Ivy League honors, while Raymond was the first harrier to claim Second Team recognition.

Marco Pompilj (14th, 25:01.4) was also a second-team performer thanks to his 14th-place finish. Crossing 16th overall and the fourth Dartmouth runner to pick up points was junior Quin Cooney in 25:02.7.

The final scorer for the team in green and white was sophomore Pat O'Brien in 22nd thanks to his 25.15.5.

There was a drop off after the top-three teams with Penn finishing with 95 points, 28 behind Dartmouth. Columbia (98), Brown (164), Yale (176) and Cornell (203) rounded out the race's eight-team field.

The Green now turn their attention to the NCAA Northeast Regional in Buffalo on Nov. 9.
