HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men's cross country team will line up at the starting line Friday at noon looking to secure a berth at the NCAA Championship.
Â
The opportunity for the Big Green to move on will depend on the outcome of Friday's NCAA Northeast Regional at the Audubon Golf Course in Amherst, New York. Dartmouth will run the 10K course at noon in the meet hosted by the University of Buffalo.
Â
At last year's meet on this same course, the Green and White left with a disappointing taste in their mouth after claiming 13th and failing to reach the national championship.
Â
This year, however, Dartmouth has been a surprise team in big meets, running at Boston College and Penn State. Two weeks ago, the Green jumped up to take third at a very competitive Ivy League Championship meet in Princeton, led by sophomore
Owen Ritz (7th, 24:48.3) and junior
Henry Raymond (8th, 24:49.7).
Â
Ritz was a First-Team All-Ivy League performer, while the eighth-place finish earned Raymond second-team recognition.
