THIS WEEKEND
The Dartmouth women's hockey team will conclude its five-game road trip this weekend, taking on Princeton and Quinnipiac.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green fell to No. 9 Colgate (6-0) and No. 7 Cornell (4-0) on the road last weekend. Against the Raiders, netminder
Christine Honor had 34 saves in the loss, while
Jennifer Costa led the team with three shots. The following afternoon against the Big Red, it was a big day for
Kayla Wormsbecher, who made both her collegiate debut and started her first game, making 34 saves.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Princeton enters the weekend with an overall record of 2-2 and is 2-0 in ECAC Hockey play. The two losses came to No. 2 Wisconsin in the Tigers' opening games of the season, falling by just one goal in the first (4-3) before being shut out in the second (3-0). Since then, Princeton rebounded nicely, taking down Yale (4-1) and Brown (7-2) in its first weekend of conference action. After just four games, six players already have multiple points and the team is led by Carly Bullock, who is almost to double-digit points already (6-3-9).
LAST TIME AGAINST PRINCETON
The Big Green went 0-2 against the Tigers in 2017-18. In the second meeting on Dec. 1, a Princeton goal scored with just over a minute to go in the third period lifted the Tigers to a 3-2 victory at Thompson Arena. Sarah Tabeek,
Megan Cornell and
Linda Essery ended the night with their first career points. Cornell netted Dartmouth's first goal, while Tabeek (in her first game in a hockey jersey after playing four years of field hockey) assisted, and Essery got the helper on
Sydney Hill's tally.
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Quinnipiac will already be on game nine by the time it faces Dartmouth on Saturday. The Bobcats got off to a slow start, falling to Ohio State and Maine twice before tying Vermont twice. Their first wins of the year came six games in in the form of two shut outs against Brown (4-0) and Yale (2-0). Fifteen players on the team already have at least one point, while 10 have multiple. Taylor House (4-1-5) and Lexie Adzija (2-3-5) lead the team with five points apiece.
LAST TIME AGAINST QUINNIPIAC
The Big Green split against the Bobcats last season and both were very close, one-goal games. On Oct. 27, thanks to excellent goaltending by Honor and a goal scored late in the first period by
Alyssa Baker, Dartmouth defeated Quinnipiac, 1-0, on the road. Honor had a career night. Her 61 saves were a career-high, a program record and, best of all, an NCAA record for most saves in a shutout. On Dec. 2,
Tess Bracken netted her first goal of the season with 50 seconds to go in the third in the 2-1 loss at home. Essery also picked up a point with her second assist of the weekend and her career. Honor had another good game between the pipes, ending up with 39 saves.
BETWEEN THE PIPES
Wormsbecher played her first game of her career against Cornell, making 34 saves in the loss. Honor has played in and started the other two games so far this season and has made 67 saves while allowing eight goals and has a .893 save percentage and 4.01 goals against average. Dartmouth's other goalie,
Shannon Ropp, has not yet seen any playing time.

NEXT UP FOR DARTMOUTH
The Big Green will finally get to play at home, playing three non-conference games in a row at Thompson Arena. On Tuesday, Nov. 6, Dartmouth will host Vermont at 7 p.m. and will be back over the weekend with a pair against RIT.
