SATURDAY'S GAME
The Dartmouth field hockey team will close out the 2018 season Saturday in Ithaca against Cornell.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green dropped its final home game of the year last Saturday in windy, cold, rainy, snowy weather to visiting No. 6 Harvard, 6-0.
SCOUTING THE BIG RED
•   Cornell is struggling coming into the final game of the year.
•   The team is still searching for its first Ivy League win of the season, something Dartmouth is looking to deny when they meet Saturday morning.
•   The biggest issue this season has been scoring as the Big Red have a league-low 15 goals in 16 games played this season.
•   The team's leading scorer is Grace Royer, who has just three goals and eight points. In total, the 15 goals have come from just seven players with four individuals scoring three times apiece.
•   The team snapped a four-game skid with a 4-0 home win against visiting Bryant on Sunday, just a day after losing to Princeton by the same score.
AGAINST CORNELL
•   Dartmouth is seeking its first win against Cornell since the final contest of the 2012 season. That 2-1 result was thanks to the game winner from senior Sam McPherson with just 56 seconds remaining in regulation.
•   Since then, Cornell has won five straight against their Hanover counterparts.
LEADERS
•  Â
Katie Spanos leads Dartmouth in both goals (7) and points (15) this season.
•   In terms of assists,
Carmen Braceras and
Gemma Bautista both have three in 16 starts, but
Lia Constantine has come off the bench in all 16 games and boasts a team-leading four helpers this year.
•   Senior
Jessica Valvano and freshman
Sara Falkson both have four defensive saves in 2018. That total is tied for 13th nationally and third amongst Ivy League players.
REACHING 50
•   Saturday's game against Harvard was the 50th career game for both Braceras and Spanos. Â
•   In that time, Spanos has started in every game since coming to Hanover, while Braceras has 47 starts, including all 16 this year.
A WIN WOULD…
•   …Be much better than a loss.
•   …Give senior goalkeeper
Hailey Valerio seven this season, breaking her career- high six set last season.
•   …Tie last year's win total (7-10).
•   …Be the 361st in program history (360-343-33).
