HANOVER, N.H. – It was announced Monday afternoon that Dartmouth junior
Katie Spanos has been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Northeast Region Second Team.
Â
A member of the Ivy League's First Team this year, Spanos proved to once again be the Big Green's top player in 2018.Â
Â
For the second time in as many seasons, Spanos netted nine goals for the Green and White, finishing tied for fifth amongst all Ivy players. Leading the team in both goals (9) and points (19), the Pennsylvania native becomes the first Dartmouth player in four years to lead the team in scoring in consecutive seasons as Ali Savage did from 2012-14.
Â
Of Spanos' nine goals, three of them were game winners, second most by any player in the conference in 2018.
Â
This marks the first time Spanos has been included on the NFHCA All-Northeast Region team in her career.
