TEMPE, Ariz. – Five members of the Dartmouth men's tennis team were named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday. The Big Green also received the team award.

Paul Midgley,
David Horneffer were recognized for the second year in a row, while
John Speicher and
Peter Conklin were first-time honorees.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).

In all, 735 teams and 4,328 student-athletes across all five divisions of college tennis were honored.

Dartmouth enjoyed a successful season in 2017-18 that included its first ECAC Indoor Championship title, its first Ivy League title since 1997 and its second NCAA Tournament appearance in the past three seasons. The Green will open tournament play at the beginning of September.
