HANOVER, N.H. – In the Ivy League's first-ever volleyball preseason poll, Dartmouth was picked to finish in seventh place, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Defending champion Princeton – a team that the Big Green defeated to end the 2017 season – sat atop the list with 14 first-place votes and 133 points, while last year's runner-up Yale received the remaining three and had 118 points. Following behind the Bulldogs were Harvard (97), Cornell (79), Penn (68), Columbia (49), Dartmouth (48) and Brown (20).
The Big Green finished in sixth place last season with a conference mark of 6-8, concluding the year on a high note by taking down Penn and Princeton for the first time in the same weekend since 2006.
Dartmouth will kick off 2018 this coming weekend at Navy's Kristen Dickmann Invitational. There, the Green will take on Villanova, Alabama and the host over the course of the two-day tournament.
