Francesca Meldrum Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Volleyball freshman Francesca Meldrum was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week following her performances at the Dartmouth Invitational over the weekend.
The Big Green finished in second place at their home tournament with a record of 2-1 after a trio of 3-0 matches, taking down Siena (25-23, 25-16, 25-18) and Lafayette (25-16, 25-22, 25-17) before falling to Boston College to end the weekend (19-25, 20-25, 20-25).
In three matches, Meldrum was first on the team with a .388 hitting percentage, 24 kills (2.67/set), five service aces and 14 total blocks (1.56/set) for a total of 37.0 points. She was named all-tournament for the second weekend in a row
Meldrum currently leads the team in kills (50), kills per set (2.63), hitting percentage (.419), aces (6) and total blocks (25).
Sophomore Tola Akinwumi and freshman Nicole Liddle were named to the honor roll.
