CORVALLIS, Ore. – An Oregon State goal in the fourth minute of overtime proved to be the difference as the Dartmouth women's soccer team fell, 1-0, to the Beavers in the Big Green's second overtime match this season. Sophomore goalkeeper

It was an evenly matched contest as Dartmouth (2-2-0) finished the afternoon with 12 shots, seven on goal, and one corner kick. Oregon State (1-5-0) came away with 14 shots and matched the Big Green with seven shots on goal, the Beavers held the advantage in corner kicks, finishing with three.

"We learned a lot about ourselves during this trip and it was great to play two Pac-12 opponents," said head coach
Ron Rainey. "The stats were equal and I love the chances we created. Our challenge will be going through this week as we prepare for a couple of really good opponents and figuring out how to take advantage of those chances and eliminate mistakes defensively."

"We talked to our team about responding after the Friday game by playing and working hard and we did that today." Rainey added.

Dartmouth and Oregon State traded shots in the early going, juniors
Hayley Soriano and
Mollie McGorisk each had shots in the 11th and 15th minutes that were turned aside by the opposing goalkeeper. Oregon State then had seven straight shots over the next 12 minutes, two of those were saved by Gordon.

In the final minutes of the first half, The Big Green had three shots that were saved.
Erin Kawakami clanged one off the post in the 33rd minute, keeping the game scoreless at the half.

Dartmouth started the second half with four straight shots that either went high or wide of the net. Gordon was key in sending the match to overtime with two saves in the final 10 minutes of regulation to keep it at a scoreless tie.

McKenzie Weinert found the back of the net in the 94th minute off an assist from Ashleigh Fonsen to lift the Beavers over the Big Green.
Dartmouth returns to Hanover to take on Northeastern at Burnham Field, Friday at 5 p.m.
