ATHENS, Ga – The Dartmouth men's tennis team returned to the court for day two of the Southern Intercollegiate Championship on Saturday, winning one doubles and three of its four singles matches.
Junior David Horneffer and sophomore Casey Ross won their very close, first-round match against Jason Kros and Carlo Donato of Virginia Tech, 8-7.
In the consolation round of singles, sophomore Dan Martin had a 4-6, 7-5 (10-4) victory over Arkansas' Jose Alonso, while classmate Peter Conklin took down UNCW's Agustin Savarino by a score of 7-5, 6-3. Horneffer added one more win with his 6-1, 6-4 defeat of Sergi Fontcuberta of ETSU.
Play will continue on Sunday.
