HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men's swimming and diving team is in first place after the first day of the Tate Ramsden Invitational with 58 points, sitting ahead of UMass with 35.

Previously named the Dartmouth Invitational, the two-day meet was renamed last season to honor Ramsden '17, who passed away in 2015.

The Big Green got off to a good start by taking the top three spots on the 1-meter diving board to earn a total of 16 points.
Justin Sodokoff led the way (294.75) and was followed by
AJ Krok (286.35) and
Ray Neistat (270.45).

Dartmouth also went 1-3 in the next event, the 500-yard freestyle.
Connor LaMastra was first (4:31.04), breaking the meet record by over two seconds, and was followed by
Zach Browne (4:42.01) and
Connor Richmond (4:45.66).
Joe Moll won the 200-yard IM (1:55.57) by almost two seconds and Max Jones took fourth (1:58.56).

In the 50-yard freestyle,
Henry Patrick was second (21.68) and was followed by
Brandon Liao and
Luke Rohlen, who tied with a time of 21.87.

To wrap up the first day of action, the Big Green were second and third in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The A relay picked up four points with a time of 1:26.14, while the B relay got two of its own by clocking a time of 1:27.32.

Day two of the meet will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
