THIS WEEKEND
Dartmouth women's hockey will be on the road again this weekend, heading to Rochester for a pair of non-conference games at RIT.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green played two tough ECAC Hockey opponents on the road last weekend, tying Quinnipiac, 1-1 before narrowly falling to No. 7 Princeton, 2-1.
- Bailee Brekke scored her first goal of the season against the Bobcats, while Celine Pietraszek also ended up on the scoresheet by assisting.
- Hannah Humphreys was excellent, making a season-high 33 saves.
- The next day against the Tigers, the Green played a good game but could not get past netminder Rachel McQuigge for a second time.
- CC Bowlby netted the third goal of her young career, while Currie Putrah and Givanna Foglia assisted.
- Humphreys had another good performance in net, playing from start to finish and ending up with 29 saves.
ROOKIES
Dartmouth's freshmen have proven to be instrumental throughout the first month of the season. Together, they have accumulated 13 points from seven goals and six helpers, which accounts for almost half of the team's 27 points. Bowlby and
Catherine Trevors are tied with
Gabby Billing for team-lead with four points, while Putrah is close behind with three.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
After a rough start to the season that saw RIT go winless through the first six games, the Tigers started to turn it around after that, winning three games in a row against Brown (6-0, 4-2) and Syracuse (7-4). Their second game against the Orange didn't go their way though, ending in a 3-0 loss.
Abby Davies leads the team in points (3-5-8), while four other players have six points apiece. Hunter Barnett is first in goals (4), while Taylor Baker leads with six assists.
LAST TIME AGAINST RIT
In November of 2018, the Big Green and the Tigers re-started a series that had ended long before any of the players on the current team were even born. On Nov. 8 and 9, Dartmouth hosted RIT, first falling by a score of 5-1 before tying the Tigers the next day, 2-2.
- In game one, Tess Bracken scored the first goal of the night and her fourth of the season. Christina Rombaut also had a point with her assist. In net, Christine Honor had 21 saves.
- The home team had a 42-25 shot advantage, but it was goalie Terra Lanteigne's 41-save performance that kept the Green from scoring more goals.
- The following afternoon, goals by Rose Falzone and Chloe Puddifant helped Dartmouth tie RIT.
- Also ending the day with a point were Bracken, Megan Cornell and Sarah McClanahan.
BETWEEN THE PIPES
Humphreys continues to be a very important part of Dartmouth's lineup. In six games and 363 minutes, she has made 166 saves while allowing 16 goals for a .912 save percentage and 2.64 goals against average.
