PRINCETON, N.J. – After day one of the Big Al Open, the Dartmouth women's swimming and diving team is in sixth place with 83 points. The host Princeton is in first place with 373.

This year's meet includes Brown, Dartmouth, Denver, John Hopkins, Penn State and Princeton.

To kick start the first evening of finals, the Big Green were fifth in the 200 free relay (1:33.60). Composed of
Zoe Wortzman,
Katherine Cane,
Ashley Post and
Sophie Smith, the relay finished less than two tenths of a second ahead of Johns Hopkins.

In the 500 free,
Christina Cianciolo came in 14th (4:54.83) and
Mia Leko placed 16th (4:58.39) in the B final, while
Sarah Minnigh (4:56.97) and Post (4:57.89) both swam in the C final and saw improvements from their morning swims.
Susannah Laster was in the D final, finishing with a time of 5:07.95.

Bridget Parker and
Megan Tao came in 22nd (2:05.78) and 23rd (2:05.88) in the 200 IM, while
Summer Martin swam right around her prelims time to take 28th (2:06.98).

Four swimmers made it back to finals in the 50 free: Smith led the way in 11th (23.41) and was followed by Wortzman in 24th (23.72), Post in 26th (23.55) and Cane, who tied for 29th (23.84). On the 3-meter diving board,
Maggie Pionzio was sixth (252.30), picking up 13 points to go toward the team total.

In the 400 medley relay, the Green were 11th (3:55.00) and 12th (3:56.19).
