HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men's tennis team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2019-20 season. The Big Green will play in six tournaments, 12 non-conference matches and the usual seven Ivy League contests.
Â
Xander Centenari was named the new head coach earlier this month and will be beginning his first season at the helm when the year begins in September.
Â
Dartmouth will compete in four tournaments over the course of the first month of the year, starting with the Ivy Plus Tournament (Sept. 20-22). In October, the Big Green will take part in the Dartmouth Invitational, ITA All-America Championship and the ITA Northeast Regional Championship before taking a break until January.
Â
Returning to the court after almost three months away, Dartmouth will begin dual matches, opening the second part of the season with a home match against Navy (Jan. 18) before heading to Alabama to face the Crimson Tide and LSU. That will be followed up by home matches against Rice, Iowa and Boston University (Jan. 31 – Feb. 1), as well as Minnesota and St. Johns (Feb. 7-8).
Â
After playing a heavy home schedule, the Green will be on the road for the remainder of February and the entirety of the March. The ECAC Indoor Championship will be played at Columbia (Feb. 14-16), while Dartmouth will play at Indiana to end the month. The Big Green's spring break trip will consist of matches against UConn, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State and Vanderbilt (March 17-22).
Â
After returning from Tennessee, Dartmouth will go right into Ivy play, starting with home matches against Princeton and Penn (April 4-5), the last of which will be senior day. The Green will be on the road from then on, facing Brown (April 10), Yale (April 12), Columbia and Cornell (18-19) before closing the regular season at Harvard (April 25).
