HANOVER, N.H. - Â After the first day of the Tate Ramsden Invitational, the Dartmouth men's swimming and diving team is first with 55 points, sitting far ahead of UMass with 19.

The evening was highlighted by
Connor LaMastra breaking the pool record (from 2016) and the meet record (from 2014) in the 200 IM with his time of 1:48.21.

The Big Green took first and second in the 500 free:
Joe Moll won (4:33.92) and
Ethan Banks followed soon after (4:40.71). Stas Genderen also ended up in scoring position (4:46.50). In the 200 IM,
Maxwell Jones was second (1:57.95) and
Connor Bishop (1:59.59) was fifth.

John Hall picked up nine points by winning the 50 free (21.28), out-finishing a UMass swimmer by just over a tenth.
Brandon Liao (21.44) and
Landon Armstrong (21.58) also earned a few points.

To end the first day of the meet, Dartmouth won the 200 free relay (1:24.15), breaking the meet record from 2016 by less than a tenth of a second. The Green's B relay also had two points by placing third (1:27.04).

Dartmouth will return to the pool at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
