HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's tennis had a 4-1 victory over UMass at the Boss Tennis Center on Friday.
This is the second time in the last two weeks that the teams have met, having faced each other in the ECAC Indoor Championship.
The Minutewomen had 7-5 wins at the No. 1 and 3 doubles positions to win the first point of the evening. On court two,
Racquel Lyn and
Allison McCann had a 6-1 defeat of Ashley Avery and Sarah Mezini. This was the only point UMass (3-8) won throughout the match.
Dartmouth (5-4) had four straight singles victories to win the match.
Jennifer Gadalov tied things up with her 6-3, 6-1 win over Mezini at the No. 6 position, while
Chuyang Guan gave the Big Green the go ahead with her 6-4, 6-2 win against Avery on court four. A 6-2, 6-3 win by
Ashley Hess at the No. 2 spot and a 6-3, 6-1 victory by
Jingyi Peng on court five clinched.
The Green will be back on Sunday with an 11 a.m. match against Michigan State.
