HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's tennis was defeated by Michigan State, 4-2, at the Boss Tennis Center on Sunday.
Allison McCann and
Racquel Lyn got the match started with a 6-0 win at the No. 2 doubles position before a Spartan win on court one made things closer.
Chidimma Okpara and
Ashley Hess fought hard, but eventually fell by a score of 6-4, giving the first point to Michigan State (8-3).
Spartan victories on courts one and six in singles moved the visitors ahead by a score of 3-0.
Catherine Cable got Dartmouth (5-5) back in the match with her three-set win over Nicole Stephens at the No. 4 position, while Lyn had a 7-6(4), 6-3 victory against Samantha Memije on court two to make it a 3-2 match. Hess played well at the No. 5 spot, but it was Maja Pietrowicz who won the three-setter to clinch.
The Green will play on the road for the next month, starting with Boston University next Saturday.
