NEW YORK, N.Y. – On the first day of the ECAC Indoor Championship Friday, seventh-seeded Dartmouth fell to No. 2 Penn, 4-1, at Columbia's Dick Savitt Tennis Center.
The Quakers won at the No. 1 and 2 doubles positions to take the first point. On court three,
Ashley Hess and
Chidimma Okpara were tied with Ashley Zhu and Carolyn Xie, 4-4, when the match went unfinished.
Penn made it 2-0 with a win at the No. 1 singles position, while Okpara followed that up with her 6-1, 6-0 victory on court five. Quaker victories at the No. 3 and 6 spots clinched the win.
The Big Green will play again at 11 a.m. on Saturday, facing the loser of the No. 3 Yale and No. 6 UMass match.
