NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seventh-seeded Dartmouth women's tennis upset No. 6 UMass, 4-0, on day two of the ECAC Indoor Championship at Columbia's Dick Savitt Tennis Center on Saturday.
Catherine Cable and
Chidimma Okpara started the match off with a 6-0 win at the No. 3 doubles position.
Allison McCann and
Jingyi Peng followed that up with a 6-1 victory on court two to give the Big Green the first point of the day.
All it took were three quick two-setters to give Dartmouth (3-4) the win.
Nina Paripovic started singles with her 6-1, 6-0 defeat of Sarah Mezini at the No. 6 position, while Cable had a 6-0, 6-1 win over Martina Bocchi on court two. A 6-1, 6-1 win by Hess at the No. 4 position clinched the win.
The Big Green will face Brown at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
