For the second straight game, senior Katieanne Christian '05 netted five goals in a home NCAA Tournament game, this time in the second round of a 13-3 victory over fourth-seeded Georgetown.
The quarterfinal win over the Hoyas pushed the fifth-seeded Dartmouth women's lacrosse team to 16-2 on the season and earned them a berth in the national semifinals the following weekend in Annapolis, Maryland.
The three goals allowed remains the program record for fewest goals by an opponent in an NCAA Tournament game, while also the lowest mark that season by the normally potent Georgetown attack.
In addition to Christian, the Green and White got multi-goal efforts from Sarah Szefi (3) and Annie Leibovitz (2) and another seven saves from goalkeeper Devon Wills '06.
It marked the third time in program history that Dartmouth earned a spot in the Final Four.
