May 8, 2011 — Women's Lacrosse receives an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament
After posting a record of 11-4 overall and 6-1 in the Ivy League to share the conference crown with Penn, the NCAA announced that 11th-ranked Dartmouth would host a first-round game of the 2011 NCAA Tournament against eighth-ranked (and undefeated) Albany. The game would be played four days later at Scully-Fahey Field.
Since Penn won the head-to-head meeting during the regular season in a tightly contested 9-8 game, the Big Green received an at-large bid for their 12th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Katieanne Christian '05
The circumstances around their most recent hosting duties were anything but usual as they were the home team against a higher seed due to Albany's inability to play on their field because of commencement scheduled for that weekend.
May 8, 2003 — Women's Lacrosse hands Boston University a 9-7 defeat in the first round of the NCAA Tournament
The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team, which once again captured the Ivy League Championship in 2003, qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in program history. The Big Green finished the regular season with a 10-4 overall record and 6-1 mark in the league, sharing the crown with Princeton (which went on to win the national title) and Yale.
Playing in the first-round game at home on Scully-Fahey Field, Dartmouth bested Boston University, 9-7, on the strength of four goals from sophomore Katieanne Christian '05. Freshman goalkeeper Devon Wills '06 did her part at the other end of the field, making 11 saves in the game and helping send Dartmouth through to the next round at Maryland three days later.
Christian's four goals were the third most by a Dartmouth player in an NCAA Tournament game in program history to that point.
