HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth men's tennis head coach
Xander Centenari announced the 2019-20 team awards. Three players were recognized for their performances throughout the shortened season.

Peter Conklin won both the Occum Bowl and the Grit Grind Award. The Occum Bowl is awarded to the player who made the greatest improvement during the year and demonstrated increasing maturity in attitude toward the game. The Grit Grind Toughness Award is given to the athlete who exemplifies the team's values of toughness, resilience, composure and confidence. Conklin went 13-3 in singles (4-3 tournament, 9-0 dual) and 14-6 in doubles (8-1 tournament, 6-5 dual). He ended the season on an 11-match unbeaten streak in singles (Jan. 18 – Feb. 29).

The Hard Hat Commitment Award was given to
Pierce Widdecombe for exemplifying the team's values of self-motivation, preparation, being team oriented, having a positive attitude and having strength of character. This is the second year in a row that he has received the award. Widdecombe had an overall record of 10-5 in singles (6-3 tournament, 4-2 dual) and 7-3 in doubles (3-1 tournament, 4-2 dual). He started the spring on a four-match winning streak in singles play.

Dan Martin received the Clarence J. Davies Award, which is given to the player who displayed the qualities of sportsmanship, integrity and team spirit that reflects most favorably on themselves and Dartmouth. He went 13-5 overall in singles (5-3 tournament, 8-2) and 9-4 in doubles (4-2 tournament, 5-2 dual). He played most of his singles matches at the No. 1 or 2 positions, while he paired up with Widdecombe or
Anders Gibbons at the No. 3 doubles.
