HANOVER, N.H. — The Big Green fell to No. 4 Colgate by a score of 4-2, Friday afternoon. Dartmouth battled hard, the score was tied 1-1 after one period of play and the team trailed by one entering the third, but they could not fine the offense to comeback in the final period of play.

The action picked up midway through the first period. Colgate (9-2-0, 1-0-0 ECAC Hockey) put the puck into the back of the net to take a 1-0 advantage with 11:50 left in the first period. Dartmouth (0-2-0, 0-2-0 ECAC Hockey) tied the game on a power play goal with just under two minutes left in the first. Fuoco scooped up a loose puck and dance behind the Colgate net before scoring on a wrap around. Freshman forward
Lauren Messier assisted on the play. It was the first goal of Fuoco's career.
The team entered the second tied 1-1. Dartmouth went on the power play seven minutes into the period. The Raiders were able to take a lead on a shorthanded goal, but the Big Green responded just 23 second later on a power play goal from Bowlby. She was assisted by Fuoco and sophomore defender
Annie King. Colgate notched one more goal with 36 second left in the period and the score was 3-2 headed into the intermission.
The two sides continued to battle in the final period of play. The Big Green were unable to score, but incredible saves from Emerson kept the team in the game. Then with just over five minutes left in the game, The Raiders scored a fourth goal to take a 4-2 lead. Dartmouth pulled their goalie with just under two minutes left, but the extra attacker was not enough and they fell 4-2.
Fuoco, Messier and King all scored their first career points in the game and Dartmouth was 2-5 on the power play. Colgate's penalty was 34-34 headed into the night and had not let in a single power play goal until tonight when the Big Green scored twice.
Dartmouth is back in action tomorrow at 3 p.m. against ECAC Hockey and Ivy opponent Cornell. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
