HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth volleyball head coach
Gilad Doron has announced his team's schedule for the upcoming 2021 season. When the Big Green hit the court at the beginning of September, it will have been a whopping 658 days since they last played.
Â
Doron is entering his sixth season at the helm of the program. He is joined by
Brandon Chan, who is in his third season as an assistant, and
Alesha Wilson, who was hired in May.
Â
"I am pleased with our fall 2021 schedule and am looking forward to our team getting to resume play again," Doron said. "I believe the preseason schedule will challenge our team and help us prepare for Ivy play when it starts. I know the players are looking forward to finally be on the court again, but we will have to be very careful and patient after missing the 2020 season and having 10 players – our freshmen and sophomores – who will be playing their first collegiate seasons."
Â
Like it does every year, the Green will open the season with three tournaments in a row, starting with the Lehigh Steel Invitational (Sept. 3-4), before returning home for the annual Dartmouth Invitational, welcoming New Hampshire, Holy Cross and Connecticut to Hanover (Sept. 10-11). Tournament play will end at the Hartford Invitational (Sept. 17-18).
Â
After that, Dartmouth will head into 14 straight Ivy League matches, starting with Harvard at home (Sept. 4) before heading out for four road games. The Big Green will be back at Leede Arena to face Columbia and Cornell (Oct. 15-16), and will travel two hours south to play the Crimson for the second time before returning home to end the month against Penn and Princeton.
Â
Already in the final month of the season, Dartmouth will play on the road one last time against the Big Red and the Lions (Nov. 5-6) before closing the regular season against Yale and Brown (Nov. 12-13).
