HANOVER, N.H. — After two years as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator under head coach
Bob Whalen on the Dartmouth baseball staff,
Conor Burke has been hired by the Iona Gaels as their new head baseball coach. Burke is the sixth assistant to work for Whalen and go on to become a Division I head coach.
Burke only got seven games under his belt with the Big Green before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the 2020 season and canceled the 2021 campaign. He also spent four years as an assistant coach at Maine after stops at Adelphi, Concordia College and his alma mater, Queens College (N.Y.), not to mention his role as the national recruiting coordinator for the Bayside Yankees, an elite travel baseball program based in New York City.
